Dolphin slaughter in Phillipines

Poachers in Pilar town, Sorsogon, are facing charges for allegedly slaughtering at least 7 Spinner dolphins on Tuesday.

Police found the remains of just 2 of the dolphins that were captured and killed in Barangay Bantayan.

Poachers reportedly sold the dolphin meat for around P10,000.

Police will file charges against several unnamed suspects for violating conservation laws.

People found guilty of killing endangered animals in the country can be imprisoned for 12 to 20 years and fined P120,000, authorities said.
